CAMBERLEY GARDEN
Surrey
A design for a garden in Camberley, which makes the most of the woodland setting to create a leafy secluded space filled with colour and romance.
A mediterranean style front garden
The front garden celebrates its dry, sunny aspect with a Mediterranean-style rock garden, paired with new fencing and layered hedging for immediate and long-term privacy. Planting along the entrance adds colour and texture, while a decked seating area captures the afternoon sun.
Complimenting the mid-century architecture
Materials were chosen to echo the home’s mid-century character, embracing clean lines and warm natural tones. Corten steel, oak-look decking and clay pavers link effortlessly to the proposed timber cladding, while Jura beige porcelain provides a stone-like, low-maintenance finish connecting the front and rear spaces.
Woodland-inspired back garden planting
In the back garden, the design enhances the existing woodland feel with Acers, Rhododendrons and Hydrangeas. A timber pergola and lush planting around the terrace create intimacy, while a more open area with sofa seating and an outdoor kitchen offers space to unwind. Multi-stem trees provide gentle screening and focal points.
Creating garden privacy
Around the greenhouse, new planting—including an Amelanchier—softens views of neighbouring properties. A redesigned black metal archway and matching railings frame a mix of existing and new roses, while a widened bed with three apple trees adds structure, blossom and seasonal interest.
The result is a calm, cohesive and secluded garden that blends woodland character with contemporary materials—creating a welcoming space deeply connected to both house and landscape.
